Special Kids Family Picnic
A man never stands so tall as when he kneels to help a child.

The Special Kids Family Picnic is an opportunity for special needs children and their families to enjoy a day in an environment free of judgement and full of support. The picnic is tailored to provide an entertaining time for not just the special needs child, but also for any other children in the family and for any relative who may accompany the child.

The 2007 event took place September 22nd at Fairytale Town from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm. Kids from throughout the region were treated to games, prizes and wonderful day inspite of the inclement weather. Active 20-30 No.1 would like to thank all the kids and families that participated in this years event. Thank you also to all our volunteers, without whom this event would not happen.

The 2006 Special Kids Family Picnic took place September 9, 2006 at Fairytale Town. This was a great event and took advantage of the new Mother Goose Stage at Fairytale Town (which was partially funded by Active 20-30 Sacramento No.1.)

For 2005, the Special Kids Family Picnic moved to Southside Park to coincide with the opening of the Accessible Playground at Southside Park, located at 6th Street and U Street. The playground is an integrated and intergenerational-use playground that is open to everyone, including children with disabilities, able-bodied children, parents, grandparents and caregivers. Active 20-30 Sacramento #1 is proud to have been a major contributor to this project.

The 25th Annual Special Kids Family Picnic took place in 2004, and was held at Fairytale Town.
